Guelmim is the gateway to the Moroccan Sahara and the capital of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region. The province of Guelmim covers an area of 28,750 square kilometers with a population of approximately 190,000 people.

With a view to boosting local commerce and improving the range of services, a new shopping center will be built in Guelmim-Abaynou. This project aims to attract national and international brands, while promoting
the local economy and employment.
The agri-food sector is strengthened with the approval of a unit specializing in the production of food supplements. This project will contribute to the development of agricultural processing industries and the improvement of the added value of local products.
Improving healthcare infrastructure is a major priority for the Region. With this in mind, a new multi-purpose clinic, led by the national leader in the private healthcare sector, has been approved. This project aims to strengthen
the provision of specialized care and to facilitate access to quality medical services for the local population.
A specialized oncology clinic has also been approved by the CRUI and will soon be set up to meet the growing needs for cancer care in the Region.
As part of national commitments to the energy transition, the Aferkat wind farm project is entering its development phase with the approval of the CRUI (Regional Commission for the Integration of the Environment) and the signing of an investment agreement with the Government. This project will contribute to increasing clean energy production and reducing the regional carbon footprint.
